Broadcasting Media and Communications Standards Commission clears backlog of digital sex crime cases in five weeks
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media and Communications Standards Commission said on May 19 it cleared all backlogged agenda items involving digital sex crime information five weeks after forming a dedicated subcommittee. It processed 69,126 cases after restarting a 24-hour review system. Of those, 47,165 cases were handled first through voluntary self-regulation removals in cooperation with overseas operators. The remaining 21,961 cases drew corrective requests through electronic and in-person reviews.
