NRK security tech lab staff played StarCraft at work; discipline limited to reprimands
Five employees at South Korea’s National Security Research Institute logged into the StarCraft Battle.net server during working hours from September to December 2024, documents showed. Some recorded more than 90 hours of access, including sessions lasting up to 8 hours 53 minutes in a day. The institute issued reprimands to all five, deducted paid leave for the time, and cut pay where leave was insufficient. It also tightened network controls and monitoring.

Nexon launches domestic PC Overwatch service with season 4 update
Nexon said on Tuesday it has started domestic season 4 service for the PC game Overwatch, developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Nexon will provide service as the domestic publisher, allowing play via Nexon.com and Nexon Plug in addition to the Battle.net launcher. It will give linked-account users loot boxes and other items, and offer additional rewards for those who linked in advance. Season 4 adds new content, including a new Korean hero, and Nexon will run events and hold an offline user gathering in Busan.

Nexon to publish Blizzard\'s Overwatch in South Korea; service to start Aug. 12
Nexon will take charge of South Korea PC publishing for Blizzard Entertainment\'s shooting game Overwatch and introduce a new live service, it said on Monday. The official service will begin on Aug. 12 alongside the Season 4 update. The companies plan Korea-tailored content and PC bang services. Users can link Nexon and Battle.net accounts through Aug. 11, keeping all existing items and progress and receiving rewards if linkage is maintained.
