Korea Exchange opens after-market, extends KOSPI and Kosdaq trading to 8 p.m.
The Korea Exchange has opened an after-market for the KOSPI and Kosdaq from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., replacing the previous after-hours single-price session with continuous trading. A total of 38 brokerages plan to participate. The move brings the exchange into direct competition with Nextrade, which already runs an after-market until 8 p.m. Some stocks and products, including ETFs and ETNs, are excluded.

Korea Investment Securities expands BanKIS new customer benefits
Korea Investment Securities will expand benefits for new customers using its non-face-to-face account opening service BanKIS, including an investment credit. From August, first-time BanKIS account openers will receive 20,000 won that can be used to buy domestic shares, in addition to the existing offer of two shares randomly selected from KOSPI200 constituents. The benefit also applies to accounts opened through partner platforms.

Korea Investment Securities launches campus investment education at Chung-Ang University
Korea Investment Securities said on Thursday it has begun its on-campus investment education program for university students, called the HanTu Campus Tour. The first session was held on Feb. 4 at Chung-Ang University and covered practical basics including stock trading methods. The company also introduced its student mock investment competition and its BanKIS Buddy supporter program. About 120 students attended, asking questions ranging from technical chart analysis to using open APIs.
