China\'s DeepSeek nears 11 trillion won funding from Tencent, CATL; valuation seen up to 90 trillion won
Chinese AI startup DeepSeek is nearing the completion of its first external fundraising round since its founding. The funding is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan, while the company has been valued at close to $60 billion, reports said. Participants are said to include Tencent, NetEase, JD.com and battery maker CATL, as well as venture capital firms. Founder and CEO Liang Wenfeng plans to invest about 20 billion yuan of his own money.

DeepSeek cuts V4 Pro prices 75 percent, widening cost gap with U.S. top-tier models
Chinese AI startup DeepSeek has formalised a 75 percent price cut for its flagship V4 Pro model, moving the discount from a promotion to its official price. A third-party benchmarker rated V4 Pro among the top global models for “intelligence” per dollar. DeepSeek says its API prices are $0.0036 per 1 million cached input tokens and $0.87 per 1 million output tokens. A benchmark test cost about $268, versus about 12 times more for OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 and about 19 times more for Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.7.

Huawei seen leading China\'s AI chip market share this year on 60 percent growth
Huawei is expected to take the largest share of China’s AI chip market this year, the Financial Times reported. Chinese technology companies are placing large orders for Huawei’s latest Ascend 950PR processor. Based on orders already secured, Huawei expects AI chip revenue of about $12 billion this year, up more than 60 percent from $7.5 billion in 2025. Nvidia has faced hurdles re-entering the China market amid U.S. and Chinese regulations.
