MSIT, KTOA hold competition to find adventurous, challenging AI startups
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Telecommunication Operators Association held a final round of a competition to identify investment targets among adventurous and challenging AI startups, selecting 8 winners. A total of 268 companies applied, a 33.5-to-1 competition rate. Winners will receive 80 million won in prize money and investment opportunities linked to the Korea IT Fund. An AI venture fund will also be newly created this year.

Bezos also bets as CuspAI teams up with Nvidia to find new materials for AI chips
British AI startup CuspAI has raised $450 million and will work with Nvidia to discover new materials for next-generation semiconductors. CNBC reported the funding values CuspAI at $2.6 billion, with investors including Jeff Bezos’ Bezos Expeditions, Kleiner Perkins and others. CuspAI launched an AI Materials Foundry to link data, labs and computing resources. Nvidia will provide accelerated computing infrastructure, and Meta’s fundamental AI research group will also participate.

South Korea steps up push for one AI agent per person, to launch \'AI for Everyone\' service this year
South Korea plans to launch a free, general-purpose AI chatbot service called \'AI for Everyone\' in December using domestic AI models. The government aims to upgrade it into AI agents next year, targeting a \"one AI agent per person\" era. It will support construction of gigawatt-class AI data centres backed by 550 trillion won in private investment and pursue projects in physical AI, AI semiconductors, security and regional AI transformation hubs, and space and quantum programmes.
