KB Financial launches \'KB AI Lab\' to train job-ready AI talent
KB Financial Group plans to expand the use of AI agents in key tasks such as data analysis and software development and to train AI talent based on workplace assignments. The group said it launched a hands-on training programme, KB AI Lab, after holding its first-half 2026 Group AI and Data Innovation Seminar in Seoul. It introduced a personalised data analysis agent, KB DAVIS, and an AI-based integrated development environment called the AI Dev Center.

Financial sector \'digital risks\' rise, putting IT controls to the test
As financial companies expand use of AI, South Korean regulators are sharpening oversight of security and internal controls. The Financial Services Commission plans to exempt sanctions for minor system disruptions during AI security tests or emergency patches if conditions are met, while requiring swift recovery and consumer protection. The Financial Supervisory Service will intensively inspect IT basic controls in the second half and urged banks to build AI internal-control systems. A Woori Bank data leak and broader market and industry moves have also highlighted digital risks.

KB Kookmin Bank launches KB AI Dev Center to use AI from planning to development and testing
KB Kookmin Bank has launched the KB AI Dev (Development) Center, a dedicated unit to build an environment where AI participates in the full financial service development process. The center will handle automated code generation, prototype development, real-time security and error verification, and testing and suitability assessments for applying the latest AI technologies. The bank also plans a fast-track system linking global AI code agent solutions and will apply its in-house tool, Hanes.
