Nol Universe on Wednesday disclosed key results from its AI transformation (AX) in software development.
Nol Universe compared development organisation work metrics over the past three months with the same period a year earlier. It said the amount of code written per developer rose 71 percent. The time from writing code to reflecting it in the live service was cut by more than half. The time to get initial approval after peer review fell 41 percent, and the share of code rewritten for fixes dropped 12 percent.
To spread its AI use experience and know-how across the organisation, Nol Universe opened an in-house AI transformation integrated portal, the NOL AX Hub, in July.
It links AI work cases that each organisation had used individually so they can be reviewed and reused in one place. It also provides integrated information such as guides and training on using AI tools.
The company stressed it also built an AI assistant that checks and analyses airline source code, databases and APIs in real time. It said this improved work so that staff in charge can directly handle information checks that previously had to go through developers.
It also developed a system that automatically generates templates needed for simulated malicious email drills for employees using an LLM basis, and automates the drill process. Nol Universe said it plans to later run the Engineering AX Awards, in which members themselves select and reward best AI use cases, to continue identifying and spreading practical work improvement cases.
Nol Universe is also linking in-house AX capabilities with AI service innovation that customers experience. After introducing the conversational product recommendation service for travel products, "AI Nori", in December last year, it opened the AI curation service "Discovery" in July.
Nol Universe Chief Technology Officer Young-jin Kim (김영진) said, "We are focusing on establishing AI as a way of working that any member can use routinely, rather than a tool for some organisations or jobs." He added, "We plan to accumulate members' diverse AI use experience and know-how as company-wide assets and link them not only to improved productivity in actual work but also to service innovation that customers can feel."
