Fasoo AI said on Tuesday it launched a source code security solution, DRM Source Code Security, that applies a virtualised isolation approach.

Unlike conventional methods that encrypt files individually within applications, the new solution isolates and encrypts the development environment itself using virtualisation. It is designed to reduce repetitive file-level encryption operations, minimising system load and slower work speeds.

Because it is not dependent on specific applications, it can be applied across various development tool environments, the company explained. It also reduced the maintenance burden caused by individual application updates, it added.

It allows developers to store data only on designated secure drives, restricting the external removal of source code. Data cannot be stored on unauthorised individual drives.

The solution is provided as an expandable software offering of Fasoo Enterprise DRM (FED) 6.

When linked with FED 6, security features can be applied to source code, including capture prevention, screen watermark insertion, clipboard control, print blocking and usage history tracking. FED 6 is a data security solution that encrypts documents in local and cloud environments and controls and tracks access based on user permissions.

Yoon Kyung-gu (윤경구), chief technology officer at Fasoo AI, said, "We made it possible to protect source code while maintaining the usability of existing development environments in a new way." He said, "We will open up a new frontier in the source code security market."
