Ridi said on Tuesday it has been selected as an official partner in Google's global intellectual property (IP) protection program, the Trusted Copyright Removal Program (TCRP).

TCRP is a program that grants partner qualifications after reviewing performance and operating systems in responding to illegal content distribution. About 200 companies and institutions worldwide are participating.

Partners have authority including priority processing for bulk reports of copyright-infringing content, eased limits on the number of reports, and simplified review procedures.

Ridi has operated a dedicated team to respond to illegal content distribution since 2023. After adopting its self-developed AI agent for monitoring illegal distribution, the number of works monitored monthly rose 12-fold and the daily average number of reports increased 5-fold. The average blocking rate is close to 90 percent.

The cumulative number of illegal content items it has deleted to date totals 113 million. Ridi estimated the scale of prevented damage from this at about 1 trillion won.

It is also conducting open source intelligence (OSINT)-based tracking to identify the operators of illegal sites and distribution channels. It participated in shutting down illegal sites in and outside South Korea in cooperation with the Korea Copyright Protection Agency, the Webtoon Illegal Distribution Response Council, and the Copyright Overseas Promotion Association (COA), among others.

Ridi last year received a ministerial commendation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the Republic of Korea Copyright Protection Awards in recognition of its contributions to countering illegal distribution.

A Ridi official said, "It is meaningful that our sustained efforts to respond to illegal distribution have been recognized under global standards." The official added, "We will advance AI technology and expand cooperation at home and abroad to protect creators' legitimate rights."
