[DigitalToday reporter Ho-jung Lee] Kakao Games said on Sept. 1 it will hold an online showcase for 'World of Dokkaebi', a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) being developed by Supercat, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 8.

The showcase will be broadcast on the official YouTube channel for World of Dokkaebi. It will unveil actual gameplay footage featuring regions, skills and combat scenes, and introduce key systems and post-launch operations plans.

It will also announce major service plans for the first time, including the official release schedule. Influencers will analyse the game’s content and features and hold a question-and-answer session in a separate programme.

World of Dokkaebi is a game being developed based on the intellectual property (IP) of Naver web novel and webtoon 'Myeolgwi Sudujeon'. It applies 2.5D graphics that combine 2D dot characters with 3D backgrounds, along with dot art reflecting traditional Korean sensibilities.

Redice Studio, the producer of 'Solo Leveling', also took part in producing the game. Kakao Games is in the final stages of work with an aim of an official release in October.

Ahead of the showcase, Kakao Games has released videos related to the game through its official YouTube channel. An advertisement video titled 'Rebellion' featuring actor Ji-hoon Park (박지훈) recorded 10 million views, and it also unveiled an original soundtrack (OST) produced in collaboration with Korean traditional music virtual creator Iomong.

Myung-soo Cha (차명수), head of business at Kakao Games, said the company plans to reveal the game’s main content and service plans at the showcase. "We will prepare so that users can resolve their questions about the game," he said.
