[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Dassault Systemes said on Tuesday it signed a definitive agreement to acquire ArisGlobal, an AI-native enterprise compliance platform company, as part of its push into the life sciences market.

Dassault Systemes will pay about $1.8 billion in cash to ArisGlobal at closing. It also plans to pay up to an additional $200 million over the coming years depending on whether AI-related revenue targets are met.

The company said ArisGlobal’s AI-native enterprise compliance platform supports more than 200 customers, including half of the world’s top 50 biopharmaceutical companies, as well as biotech firms, medical device companies, contract research organisations (CROs) and global health authorities. Designed to meet regulatory requirements, the platform is deeply integrated into mission-critical business operations and processes more than 12 million patient safety reports each year.

Dassault Systemes plans to accelerate its push into the life sciences industry by adding ArisGlobal capabilities in regulatory operations and real-world evidence (RWE) management to expertise it has built in new drug discovery, clinical trials, manufacturing and quality.

It plans to build a continuous evidence loop that continuously connects and uses data across the full lifecycle of therapeutics. It also plans to provide an integrated data and intelligence platform to help life sciences companies improve efficiency while developing safer therapeutics for patients.
