LG Uplus will join hands with global AI operations management company Arize AI to build a system to manage the performance and safety of AI agents.

LG Uplus said on Monday it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Arize AI to cooperate on performance and quality management of AI agents and on technologies to strengthen safety.

Arize AI is an AI operations management company that measures the performance of generative AI and AI agents and analyses errors. The agreement was pursued to continuously check the response quality of AI agents and manage errors and risk factors in advance as AI use expands in corporate environments.

Under the agreement, the companies will jointly develop technology to check AI agents' performance and response quality and to analyse and manage errors that occur during operations. They will develop Korean-language and voice-based AI evaluation technology, develop technology to prevent inaccurate or inappropriate AI answers, and seek joint business opportunities in the domestic business-to-business market.

LG Uplus will use the cooperation to strengthen its AI operations management capabilities and will also review ways to advance AI services for corporate customers.

LG Uplus Chief Technology Officer Sang-yeop Lee (이상엽) said, "As AI is becoming established as a core corporate work environment, reliability and operational stability are emerging as competitiveness." He added, "We will strengthen AI operations management capabilities with Arize AI and provide AI services that customers can trust."

Patrick Kelly, head of Arize AI's Asia-Pacific region, said, "We have now been able to create AI operations innovation cases in the Korean market with LG Uplus." He added, "Based on the technologies and experience held by both companies, we will support building a safe and trustworthy AI service environment."
