The Postal Service under the Ministry of Science and ICT said on Sunday it will provide a 10,000 won discount coupon for Post Office Shopping to customers who newly sign up for the 'Post Office Soldiers Tomorrow Preparation Savings' or the 'Post Office Mami Strong Savings' from Sept. 1 through the end of October and agree to automatic transfers to a post office account.
The Post Office Soldiers Tomorrow Preparation Savings is a product that supports lump-sum savings for military service members, including active-duty soldiers, reservists on active service, auxiliary police and social service workers. It applies an interest rate of up to 11.0 percent a year by adding preferential rates to the base rate.
Customers can receive a 10,000 won discount coupon for Post Office Shopping if they newly sign up during the event period and agree to automatic transfers of at least 30,000 won per month from a Post Office demand deposit account. Post Office Shopping also operates a dedicated section for military service members.
The Post Office Mami Strong Savings is a product that provides preferential treatment to working women and families with multiple children and supports lump-sum savings for multicultural and single-parent families. It applies an interest rate of up to 4.5 percent a year on a 12-month term. During the event period, customers who newly sign up for the Mami Strong Savings and agree to automatic transfers of at least 300,000 won per month from a Post Office demand deposit account will be provided a 10,000 won discount coupon for Post Office Shopping.
Postal Service chief In-hwan Park (박인환) said, "We will continue to expand practical benefits that people can feel by linking the post office's financial and daily life services."
