FasooAI said on Aug. 25 it has applied its private blockchain solution, FasooBlock, across Donghaeng Lottery’s lottery systems.

FasooAI participates in the Donghaeng Lottery consortium, the fifth lottery outsourcing operator, and is responsible for overall lottery security. This time, it introduced blockchain technology to strengthen lottery data integrity and secure stability, a system advancement task for Donghaeng Lottery.

A private blockchain allows only authorised users to participate. It controls data access while tracking change history. It is used in areas where multiple parties jointly manage data and need proof of authenticity or history tracking.

FasooBlock was applied to Donghaeng Lottery’s draw and instant lotteries, including Lotto 6/45 and Speetto 2000. It records and manages purchase ledger integrity hashes and winning information on the blockchain so changes to data can be checked.

It also applied an additional verification step in the high-value ticket validation process using information recorded on the blockchain. FasooAI explained this can prevent tampering with lottery data and improve responsiveness to fraudulent sales or counterfeit lottery tickets.

Lim Cho-soon (임초순), head of the System Operations Division at Donghaeng Lottery, said the reliability and transparency of lottery data are important factors for stable lottery operations. He said collaboration with FasooAI has further strengthened the data management system and that the company will continue to build a stable lottery operating environment that the public can trust.

Kang Bong-ho (강봉호), head of the Service Business Division at FasooAI, said FasooBlock, based on private blockchain technology, is an economical and efficient way to ensure data reliability and transparency. He said the company will use the Donghaeng Lottery case as a stepping stone to expand applications to industries where data integrity is important, including finance, the public sector and logistics.
