[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee] Shiba Inu's 24-hour burn rate surged 5,223.98 percent, permanently burning 412,190,021 tokens.

U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on July 26 local time that Shiba Inu rose 27.14 percent over the day, and the intraday gain reached as much as 36 percent.

The surge also sharply changed weekly indicators. Over the past 7 days, Shiba Inu's burn rate rose 816.02 percent, and 457,511,537 tokens were tallied as removed from circulation. With the past 24 hours' burn nearing the weekly total, it has effectively stirred short-term supply and demand sentiment.

Burning also continued afterwards. Over the past hour, 34,738,227 tokens were moved to a burn address in a single transaction.

Some analysis says it is difficult to directly link the price jump with burning. Although hundreds of millions of tokens disappeared, Shiba Inu's total supply still stands at 589,159,143,761,521 tokens. This means the size of the burn accounts for an extremely limited share of total supply.

Market moves are instead seen as more closely tied to increased spot trading. As spot market trading activity rose sharply, volume expanded, and burn-related transactions also increased in the process. The 5,223 percent figure acted as a factor that stoked investor sentiment, but an assessment said the main driver lifting the price was closer to the rise in spot trading.

Trading indicators also supported that view. Shiba Inu rose to around $0.00000540, and trading volume expanded to $700 million. Market capitalisation also increased to $3,179,718,980, recovering a position around the global top 25 on CoinMarketCap.

The key question is whether this uptrend will lead to fresh buying. If the strong trading momentum seen on spot exchanges holds, expectations of further gains could grow, but if profit-taking widens after the short-term surge, the price could slip back to the low $0.0000040 range. Market attention is focused less on the spike in the burn rate than on whether actual buying can support the upward trend.
