[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] OpenAI has expanded 'ChatGPT Health', which helps with health-related questions, to all logged-in users aged 18 and older in the United States. TechCrunch reported on Thursday that users on the Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans can use the feature on the web and iOS starting this week.

OpenAI began testing the feature in January through a dedicated health hub. At the time, users could link personal information and data from Apple Health, Function and MyFitnessPal.

Users can now also connect medical records from hospital systems such as Epic and Oracle Health, as well as information from health platforms such as One Medical and Function Health.

The biggest change is that health-related questions are no longer limited to the dedicated hub. Users can now receive answers across all queries based on information connected in the health section. Personal health information can also be reflected in general chats, including questions about food information or allergies.

OpenAI said during testing that 70 percent of health-related questions were asked outside the dedicated hub. It also said weekly health-related queries increased to 300 million from 230 million earlier this year.

OpenAI said model performance has also improved. Its latest small model, GPT 5.6-Luna, showed higher performance than GPT 5.5 on HealthBench, OpenAI's open-source benchmark for health-query evaluations. OpenAI said it does not use user data to train models and is working with doctors to improve health-related responses.
