Palo Alto Networks will acquire user experience observability company Embrace, SecurityWeek reported on July 22 (local time).

The specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The report said Palo Alto Networks will add real user monitoring (RUM) functions to its observability platform through the Embrace acquisition.

Palo Alto Networks also unveiled "Synthetics," which checks application performance in advance across multiple locations around the world, alongside the acquisition.

The company said Embrace's RUM technology is designed for cloud-native environments. It said Synthetics uses Palo Alto Networks' globally distributed infrastructure to validate application availability before issues reach users.

With Embrace and Synthetics, companies can view end-user interactions, application validation and backend infrastructure as one.

Lee Klarich (리 클라리치), Palo Alto Networks' chief product and technology officer (CPTO), said organizations need to see the full picture, from the moment a user taps the screen to what is actually happening in the backend, to properly understand application performance. He said linking that function to the company's "Cortex AgentiX" enables organizations to automatically fix problems as they are detected.

Earlier, in January, Palo Alto Networks acquired Chronosphere for $3.35 billion as part of efforts to strengthen its observability platform.
