The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service said on Tuesday it will hold the 2026 Korea Stamp Exhibition from July 29 to Aug. 2.

This year’s exhibition will be held under the theme “Stamps, diving into the times.” It will offer programs the public can enjoy and take part in through venues including a Robot Taekwon V commemorative stamp theme hall, a theme hall for stamps featuring current trend keywords, and an AI convergence content theme hall at the Igansumun exhibition hall of Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

The Robot Taekwon V commemorative stamp theme hall will feature a 3-metre Robot Taekwon V figure using a retro sensibility, along with old comic books and telephone directories. Korea Post will issue 700,000 stamps during the exhibition period to mark the 50th anniversary of Robot Taekwon V. The opening ceremony will also include a stamp presentation to director Kim Cheong-gi (김청기), known as the father of Taekwon V.

The trend keyword stamp theme hall presents stamps as a familiar and stylish retro item through a stamp-based personality test and humorous meme messages. The AI convergence content theme hall will offer attractions combining postal culture and new technology, including a humanoid robot dressed as a postman demonstrating Taekwon V moves and K-pop dance.

Korea Post will also set up a promotional preview space for commemorative stamps for Faker due to be issued in October, alongside a game zone, uniforms and mice, to raise anticipation.

Park In-hwan (박인환), head of Korea Post, said he hopes visitors will engage with the diverse culture contained in stamps through the exhibition and “coolly fall into stamps in the sweltering summer.”
