Google is expanding Gemini AI features on the Android operating system and has announced a new function that automates multistep tasks, TechCrunch reported on Tuesday.
With the update, users can use Gemini to automatically handle repetitive tasks such as ordering food and hailing a taxi.
The Gemini automation feature is currently in beta and is supported in some food, grocery and ride-sharing apps. It will initially be available only on the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S26 series, and will be introduced first in the United States and South Korea. Google said it has strengthened security so automation does not run without a user's explicit command, and it also provides a function to stop immediately if the AI makes an error.
Google is expanding Gemini-based phone scam detection to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and is also strengthening spam text detection in the United States, Canada and Britain.
