KT is offering low-cost roaming products and local partner benefits for travelers to Southeast Asia during the summer vacation season.
KT said on Sunday it will run its "Southeast Asia low-cost roaming" product through Oct. 31 for use in Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, among other places.
The Southeast Asia low-cost roaming plan costs 25,000 won and provides 3 GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls for 7 days. After the basic data is used up, customers can continue using data at speeds of up to 400 kbps.
It also offers partner benefits with Grab for local transport and delivery services. Eligible customers are subscribers to Together Roaming, Y Together Roaming, Low-cost Roaming, and All-day Roaming Basic, Plus and Premium.
For customers visiting seven countries including Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia, a Grab Travel Pass code will be sent via text message upon entry. After registering the code in the Grab app, customers can receive discount benefits worth up to 100,000 won when using ride-hailing, food delivery and grocery shopping services.
Kang Lee-hwan (강이환), an executive director and head of KT's Customer Service Division, said the promotion was designed to help customers visiting Taiwan and Southeast Asia use roaming services and partner benefits at reasonable prices. He said the company would continue to prepare a range of benefits so customers can conveniently use roaming services overseas.
