Megazone, the parent company of AI and cloud firm MegazoneCloud, said on Wednesday it will cooperate with AI-based robotic gripper specialist Tesollo (TESOLLO) on physical AI education and related technology.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop and operate practice-focused training courses using Tesollo’s AI gripper and robot-hand products. Megazone will support the training environment and operations through its education center, while Tesollo will provide the AI gripper and robot-hand products and technical support needed for the training. They will also conduct technical training for engineers to produce training materials.
The companies will jointly build physical AI technology references centered on robotic grasping and manipulation technologies. They plan to link Tesollo’s robot-hand and gripper technologies with Megazone’s physical AI platform to develop grasping and manipulation technologies optimized for various work environments and to advance intelligent automation technologies.
A gripper is a core device that enables a robot to pick up, move or manipulate objects. It is considered a key factor that determines robot automation performance in industrial settings such as manufacturing, logistics and services. In particular, AI-based grippers use force sensors and grasping algorithms to adjust gripping force to match an object’s shape and the work environment, supporting stable operation and drawing attention as an intelligent automation technology.
Tesollo has a lineup that includes the humanoid robot hand "DG-5FM" with a five-finger structure similar to a human hand and 20 degrees of freedom (DoF).
Megazone has technology that generates, learns and optimizes robot work motions through its physical AI platform, "WISE (Work Intelligent for Spatial Execution)".
Megazone Vice President Jae-seok Lee (이재석) said, "In the era of physical AI, the importance of gripper technology, which is an end device that performs actual work, is growing along with robot intelligence." He said, "By combining the Megazone WISE platform and Tesollo’s AI gripper technology, we will train practical talent suited to industrial sites and support customers so they can implement AI-based robot automation more efficiently."
