Aton said on Wednesday it has joined Project Canopy, an initiative aimed at spreading AI-based vulnerability defence technology, as a Defending Partner.

Project Canopy is a public-interest AI security alliance officially launched in June by the non-profit Project Plasma. It focuses on strengthening defences for domestic public-interest and livelihood infrastructure with limited security resources. The chair is Park Se-jun (박세준), chief executive of Tory, and a former white-hat hacker.

Defending Partners receive vulnerability and patch information identified by Canopy and incorporate it into their security systems. They can also request checks of open-source and infrastructure systems that require analysis.

Aton will use this to spread its proactive threat response capabilities through customer and industry networks. It operates an AI-based integrated security service through its security centre, and plans to incorporate vulnerability response information shared by Canopy into its security systems.

An Aton official said the purpose of joining the project is to share capabilities accumulated as a domestic security provider from a public-interest perspective. The official said it will contribute to strengthening domestic security sovereignty by using and spreading Canopy response information in the field.
