Neptune said on Wednesday it signed a global publishing contract with global game developer Sextant for its new mobile title, 'Trace of the Wind'. The company said it will begin full-scale preparations for worldwide service, including South Korea, starting with the deal.

Trace of the Wind is a fantasy RPG with a large narrative and world view. It was formally launched earlier this year in the Chinese market on mobile and PC platforms and is currently in service. It has secured about 500,000 followers, based on the official page of local major game platform TapTap, and has already had its quality verified by global users.

The game combines console-grade high-resolution dot-pixel art with turn-based strategic combat. It supports a play system that lets users freely switch between portrait and landscape screens depending on their environment.

Neptune plans to broaden its points of contact with global users based on its accumulated know-how in global service, localisation and operational capabilities.

Kwon Seung-hyun (권승현), head of Neptune's game business division, said, "We expect Trace of the Wind to get a good response from users who like the distinctive sensibility of JRPGs, dot-pixel art and a deep narrative." He added, "We will deliver a highly complete service so that global users, including those in South Korea, can experience the power of the story, strategic battles and the fun of collecting."
