HiParking, Humax Mobility's parking infrastructure subsidiary, is launching a project to convert parking lots nationwide into solar power and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. HiParking said on Wednesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with solar developer Enervis Korea ENG and renewable energy company SDN to jointly develop and operate solar power projects at parking facilities nationwide.

The agreement focuses on installing solar power facilities in idle spaces at parking lots at airports, large shopping malls, industrial complexes, logistics centres, apartments and public institutions nationwide. The plan is to link the sites with EV charging infrastructure and ESS, a device that stores energy and supplies it when needed, to develop parking lots into smart energy platforms.

HiParking has operated parking infrastructure at large offices, shopping malls and hospitals in South Korea for 25 years. It has technology to run parking lots nationwide in real time through its in-house integrated parking operation platform, MHP, and its AI-based parking control system, Ai-PAS.

The division of roles has also been set. Enervis Korea ENG will oversee power project permitting, feasibility reviews and EPC, which includes engineering, procurement and construction. SDN will be responsible for supplying solar modules and inverters, plant operation and maintenance, financial linkage. The three companies plan to review project feasibility and 추진 pilot projects for public and private parking lots under the agreement, then expand the scope in stages.

HiParking CEO Jun-gyu Park (박준규) said, "Parking lots are evolving beyond spaces where vehicles stay, into core hubs of mobility infrastructure that produce energy and provide EV charging and smart services." He said, "HiParking, which has experience operating the country's largest parking infrastructure and proprietary technology, will use this agreement to create a standard model for parking lot-based eco-friendly energy business."
