KT's board inspected on-site operations of the company's telecommunications network and AI infrastructure.
KT said on Tuesday that the board on July 14 visited the KT Cloud Mokdong 2 data centre and the KT Hyehwa office in sequence. The visits were arranged to directly confirm KT's network and AI infrastructure operating systems and inspect related competitiveness.
The board first visited the 'AI Innovation Center', an infrastructure technology verification hub inside the Mokdong 2 data centre. The board reviewed core AI data centre (AIDC) technologies, including the latest graphics processing unit (GPU)-based AI servers, AI-dedicated network technology, and next-generation cooling and power technologies.
The board then toured key facilities at the KT Hyehwa office, including the international communications room, the IP backbone operations room and communications ducts. It also checked the stable operating system for the national telecommunications network and the operating status of domestic and overseas internet networks and the wireless core network.
KT board chairman Yong-heon Kim (김용헌) said KT operates the national telecommunications network stably 24 hours a day and is responsible for South Korea's digital infrastructure. He said the board will continue to inspect competitiveness in core telecommunications and AI infrastructure, and will carry out its supervisory and support role so the company's growth strategy can proceed without setbacks.
