[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] Toss Bank is extending its international remittance fee waiver through the end of the year and expanding the number of currencies available for transfers to 10.
Toss Bank said on Monday it will waive the 3,900 won fee charged for overseas remittances until Dec. 31. The benefit will also apply to any currencies added in the future, in addition to the existing seven currencies.
The Japanese yen, Vietnamese dong and Thai baht have been newly added to the currencies available for overseas remittances. This brings the total number of supported transfer currencies to 10, including the U.S. dollar, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, British pound, Singapore dollar, Hong Kong dollar and the euro.
The company said it plans to respond to foreign exchange demand centered on Asian regions, including travel, studying abroad, staying overseas and sending living expenses to family members, as available currencies expand.
However, transaction fees incurred when withdrawing funds from a Toss Bank foreign currency account to make an overseas remittance are not included in this remittance fee waiver.
A Toss Bank official said, "We have reduced customers' cost burden by extending the overseas remittance fee waiver period and expanding the currencies available for transfers," and added, "We will continue to improve related services to reflect everyday foreign exchange demand."
