Woori Bank has set up a dedicated platform to expand employee participation in volunteer work.

Woori Bank said on July 13 it officially opened its employee-only volunteer platform, WE:TH.

WE:TH is an abbreviation for Woori Engage Together Here. The bank said it is meant as a space where employees practise sharing and social value together. Woori Bank built the platform to make volunteering a regular activity rather than a one-off event.

The platform plans to run monthly volunteer programs centred on four core themes: WOORI for family volunteering, EARTH for environmental protection, TOMORROW for future generations and HARMONY for inclusion.

All volunteer activities will be linked to programs operated by social enterprises. The bank also introduced a reward scheme to encourage continued participation. Accumulated points can be exchanged for products from social enterprises.

Hye-won Lee (이혜원), a manager in Woori Bank's social contribution department, said it would be run as a win-win space that connects employee participation. She said the bank would work with local communities to practise social value in areas including the environment, future generations and inclusive finance.
