Sunmi Technology, a physical AI company listed in Hong Kong, said on Thursday it has opened a South Korea branch office and Sunmi Home in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
The company said the South Korea branch, following the establishment of its global headquarters in Singapore in 2024, will allow it to speed up its push into global markets.
Sunmi Technology specialises in commercial physical AI solutions that support the digital transformation of offline businesses through intelligent IoT devices, AIOS and a cloud platform. It operates about 6.6 million monthly active devices across about 220 countries worldwide.
Sunmi founder and CEO Lin Jie (린저) said, "South Korea is a market with a high level of digital maturity globally and a key region in Sunmi’s global strategy." He added, "Based on this branch office, we will work with local partners to provide smarter and more efficient digital commerce solutions to South Korean small business owners and businesses."
Sunmi Home will be used as a product showroom and as a space to refine products by reflecting feedback from local businesses.
Businesses can directly experience smart IoT devices and commercial physical AI solutions tailored to South Korea’s payment, food delivery and tax environment there.
Sunmi plans to open a base in Japan within this year.
