Jobplanet, a career platform operated by AI and data-based HR tech platform Workssphere, released results of its “IT platform job-change tier World Cup” survey on the IT platform company respondents most want to move to.

The survey covered major IT platforms known as “Nekarakubaedangto” - Naver, Kakao, Line Plus, Coupang, Baedal Minjok, Karrot and Toss - and polled 275 users of its in-house career media service, Jobpwiki.

Naver ranked first with 38.3 percent of the vote. Toss followed with 18.9 percent and Kakao with 16.6 percent. Karrot came next with 12.3 percent, followed by Line Plus at 6.4 percent, Coupang at 4.0 percent and Baedal Minjok at 3.7 percent.

Respondents who chose Naver cited brand value and industry standing, welfare benefits and remote work, and pay and compensation. They also described it as “South Korea’s representative IT company” and a “stable traditional powerhouse.” Toss was seen as “the fastest-growing company” and a “trend-leading company,” and was rated as attractive for its growth prospects, high compensation, and product and design capabilities.

According to JobKorea’s recently published “company preference report,” job seekers considered salary and bonuses at 20.3 percent, work-life balance at 15.5 percent, accessibility at 14.5 percent and organisational culture at 10.4 percent, rather than name recognition at 4.0 percent, when applying to companies. It said they also check employee reviews at 17.8 percent and organisational culture at 15.0 percent, as well as salary bands at 21.3 percent, before submitting applications.

A Jobplanet official said job seekers’ decision-making has shifted from valuing a company’s name and status to reviewing actual employee experiences and data-based information in a comprehensive way. The official said Jobplanet will continue to support career planning by providing detailed company information based on exclusive review and rating data and the real-life stories of workers.
