Integrated security company AhnLab said on Wednesday that its endpoint security solution AhnLab V3 took part in the June VB100 certification assessment run by global security evaluator Virus Bulletin. It said V3 recorded a 100 percent malware detection rate and earned certification at the top A-plus level.

VB100 is a global security certification that verifies how Windows-based endpoint security products respond to malware distributed in real-world environments.

The company said that in the June assessment, AhnLab V3 achieved a 100 percent malware detection rate and met the certification criteria on false positives. It was the only product among major South Korean security companies in the same assessment to record 100 percent detection.

Ha-young Yang (양하영), head of AhnLab ASEC, said, "This perfect-score certification verifies the product's basic security capabilities by accurately detecting malware distributed in real-world environments while meeting the false-positive criteria for normal files. It is an achievement that proves both the detection accuracy of AhnLab V3 and the stability of its engine." Yang said, "We will continue to advance global-level threat response technology and AI-based analysis capabilities to provide a consistent and reliable security system across diverse environments."
