Naver Cloud said on Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Siemens to accelerate artificial intelligence transformation (AX) in the manufacturing industry.

The signing ceremony was held at Naver 1784 on Tuesday. Attendees included Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won (김유원), Korea Siemens CEO and president Jeong Ha-jung (정하중), and Korea Siemens Senior Vice President and head of the Digital Industries (DI) division Tino Hildebrand. Siemens Vice Chairman Cedrik Neike, a member of the Siemens Group Managing Board and head of the DI division, also attended.

The companies plan to pursue initiatives including developing solutions that combine Siemens automation, digital twin, industrial AI and OT/IT convergence solutions with Naver Cloud infrastructure, expanding industrial AI and DX solutions based on hyperscale and modular data centers, and jointly identifying customers and co-developing reference architectures.

Kim said, "Based on an AI and cloud platform with data sovereignty and the capability to respond to domestic regulations, we will support domestic manufacturers so they can tangibly experience AI value on the ground."

Neike said, "By applying AI at the center of every stage of product design, production and operations, we will accelerate innovation in manufacturing and create new standards for future industries."
