Nexon has confirmed the official name of a new development project using the 'Kartrider' intellectual property (IP) as 'Crazyracing Kartrider,' the same as the original title. It also opened an official website to lay out the development direction.
On June 23, Nexon said it decided on the project name to reflect its commitment to continue the memories and experiences of the original. Through the newly opened website, it plans to publish newsletters regularly and share development progress with users.
The new Kartrider game now in development plans to maintain key gameplay elements from the original, including its feel, driving and controls, while introducing modern systems to provide a more comfortable playing environment.
To that end, it is redesigning the original lobby screen, which became complex over a long service period, into a more intuitive layout. It is approaching the work by reorganising the overall flow of the game rather than making only partial changes to the existing structure. It also plans to modernise the client environment, including a shift to 64-bit and applying DirectX 11, to further improve service stability.
Nexon previously teased a new development project using the Kartrider IP last year. With the website opening, the company plans to actively communicate with users who have been waiting for the new Kartrider game starting from the development process.
