Amazon Web Services (AWS) said on Tuesday it has previewed a new AWS Transform feature called “continuous modernization” that analyzes and resolves technical debt across large-scale code repositories.
According to the company, AWS Transform helps enterprises handle repetitive software maintenance tasks, including moving from data centres to the cloud, modernising mainframe and Windows applications, upgrading Java versions, replacing end-of-support frameworks and updating AWS Lambda runtimes before end of support.
The newly unveiled “continuous modernization” lets companies see the status of codebases across thousands of repositories at a glance and receive prioritised findings and pull requests to address them.
It automatically scans by comparing code repositories with a configurable baseline and completes tasks that used to take weeks within hours.
It also works with AWS Security Agent to detect and resolve security vulnerabilities at the source code level.
