Hana Financial Group will provide practical job opportunities for people with developmental and hearing disabilities and those with borderline intellectual functioning, linking job training to employment preparation education and internships.

Hana Financial said on Monday it will run an employment education and job-link support program to help people with developmental and hearing disabilities and those with borderline intellectual functioning achieve stable independence.

The program will operate in three stages: tailored job training, employment preparation education and an internship program. It is designed to help trainees build job skills, gain on-site experience and move on to recruitment.

Hana Financial will accept applications through its website until July 10. After job-by-job screening, it plans to select 85 trainees in total: 60 people with developmental disabilities, 15 people with hearing disabilities and 10 people with borderline intellectual functioning.

This year, it expanded support to include people with borderline intellectual functioning and added new job training courses.

The tailored job training will run for four months as a field-oriented program, with workplaces and institutions that have hiring plans taking part. The training will also support trainees in obtaining job-specific certificates.

Top graduates who complete the job training and employment preparation education will be offered three-month internships. The internships will be held at private companies, social enterprises and non-profit institutions. After the internships end, the group will also pursue support to help link participants to recruitment.

An official from Hana Financial's ESG Planning Team said, "We hope employment opportunities for people with developmental and hearing disabilities and those with borderline intellectual functioning expand and a foundation for healthy independence is put in place."
