[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong (홍진주)] Apple could roll out its biggest-ever lineup of new products in 2027. Forecasts say it could release 6 iPhone models, as well as AI wearables, smart home devices and new products based on the M6 chip. Some expect 2027 could become Apple’s most important product-launch year ever.
According to Bloomberg Apple reporter Mark Gurman, cited by 9to5Mac on June 18, 2027 looks set to be the biggest year for new products in Apple’s history. Gurman pointed to the possibility of a major product overhaul over the next 2 years.
The most-watched area is the iPhone. Under scenarios being discussed in the industry, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone Air2, iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e in the first half of 2027. In the second half, it is expected to roll out the iPhone 20 Pro, iPhone 20 Pro Max and iPhone Ultra2. That would mark the first time Apple releases 6 iPhone models in a single year.
With 2027 marking the 20th anniversary of the iPhone’s launch, interest is also high in a commemorative model. The iPhone 20 Pro series is expected to undergo a major design change, with a quad-curved display that leaves almost no visible bezel. The industry sees it as the key highlight in Apple’s 2027 lineup.
Change is also expected in wearables. Gurman has previously mentioned the possibility of next-generation AirPods with built-in cameras and a release of Apple Glass. He did not disclose additional product names in this interview, but an expansion of wearables centered on AI features is expected to be an important pillar of the 2027 strategy. Apple Glass in particular is being assessed as a next-generation platform to compete with Meta’s smart glasses.
Apple is also expected to step up its push into the smart home market. Apple is known to be developing a tabletop home hub equipped with a rotating robotic arm. The product is being discussed as offering a larger screen and higher performance than the previously known HomePad.
The industry interprets this as a move by Apple to develop smart home devices beyond simple accessories into an independent platform.
A major refresh is also expected in Apple’s computing lineup. Forecasts say 2027 will bring a new iPad Pro and MacBook Air equipped with the M6 chip, along with a range of Mac products. A MacBook Ultra, which has been discussed as a possible release, could be included in the 2027 lineup depending on the schedule.
New Apple Watch products linked to the watchOS ecosystem are also expected to appear next year. Specific model names and specifications have not yet emerged. The industry expects stronger AI features and expanded healthcare functions to be the main changes.
This outlook is based on industry expectations, not an official Apple announcement. Actual launch schedules and product lineups could change depending on development progress. Even so, the industry sees a strong possibility that 2027 could be a major turning point in Apple’s product strategy.
That is because changes in the iPhone release cycle, an expansion of AI wearables, a stronger smart home platform and an expansion of its in-house silicon chip ecosystem are all expected to proceed at the same time. If an iPhone 20th anniversary model and Apple Glass actually reach the market, forecasts say 2027 could be recorded as the biggest year of product innovation in Apple’s history.
