[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] AI and data-based HR tech platform JobKorea will hold its first offline hackathon that participants can join using AI, titled 'JobKorea Vibeathon (JOBKOREA VIBEATHON 2026)'.
This is the first time JobKorea is recruiting external participants and holding an offline hackathon. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 4 at the Worksphere headquarters in Seoul. Participants will begin with a topic presentation and planning and presenting ideas, then conduct about 6 hours of AI-based vibe coding.
A presentation session to showcase completed services will follow, along with judging and an awards ceremony. Participation is free, and meals and goods will be provided. A networking party will also be held after the event for participants to mingle.
Vibeathon will be run with the concept of a Joseon-era civil service examination. Worksphere set the award titles by using the exam rankings: Jangwon, Bang-an and Tamhwa. It plans to provide bundle-shaped goods to participants and horse-token-shaped plaques to winners.
All participants will receive an online certificate of completion. Winning teams will also be given an opportunity to have the service they developed and their project story introduced through JobKorea content, along with an interview.
A JobKorea official said, "AI is no longer a technology only for certain experts. It is becoming a tool that helps anyone turn ideas into reality." The official added, "Vibeathon is not a place to learn AI in a difficult way, but a festival to experience it easily and in a fun way, and we hope it will be an opportunity for participants to discover new possibilities and even build their career competitiveness."
