Seoul-area cable TV operator D'Live said on Tuesday it will co-produce a new travel programme with Japan's Tottori Prefecture cable TV operator Chukai TV.
D'Live said it visited Chukai TV's headquarters in Tottori Prefecture on June 10 to share the media environment in the two countries' cable TV industries and to conduct business and technology exchanges.
Chukai TV is a system operator based in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture. It signed a basic agreement with D'Live in 2013 and has maintained a cooperative relationship for 13 years.
The two sides discussed ways to respond to a media market reshaped around over-the-top services. They also agreed to strengthen competitiveness through mutual cooperation.
The two companies agreed to jointly produce a 2026 edition of the "Tottori Series," which began as a 2013 Korea-Japan cultural exchange joint project. D'Live has produced various versions of the "Tottori Series," including "Tottori Hot Pants," "Tottori Play" and "Tottori Random Play." The series introduces restaurants and attractions in Tottori Prefecture, as well as busking performances.
A D'Live official said, "We are presenting programmes like the 'Tottori Series' through continued exchanges with Japan's cable TV industry. This exchange strengthened cooperation with Chukai TV and created a base to expand exchanges with Japan's media industry."
