LG Uplus said on Sunday it will launch five "200M internet plans" for households and small business stores.
The plans add a 200M speed tier to its existing internet speed segments centred on 100M, 500M and 1 gigabit. The company designed the plans after analysing changes in usage patterns among existing customers, including rising internet use. Customers can use the 200M plans by paying an additional 3,300 won per month compared with 100M.
The plans include Wi-Fi Basic Safe 200M, Premium Safe 200M, Premium Safe Compensation 200M, (SOHO) Payment Safe 200M and (SOHO) Safe Compensation 200M.
LG Uplus expects demand for mid-tier speed products to expand as internet usage patterns diversify. It plans to further segment its internet product line-up through the launch and strengthen quality and stability that customers can feel in various usage environments such as homes and stores.
U Ho-sung (유호성), head of LG Uplus' home business, said, "The 200M internet is a product planned by analysing changes in customers' actual usage patterns." He added, "We will continue to advance the product line-up so customers can choose according to their usage environment."
