Shinhan Financial Group held an employee volunteer drive to support neighbours in welfare blind spots.
Shinhan Financial said on June 15 it carried out an employee volunteer activity on June 12 at the Seoul Metropolitan Food Donation Support Center to support the operation of its 'Just Dream' programme.
The volunteer activity was arranged after Shinhan Financial in February increased support for the Just Dream programme to a total of 10 billion won over the next 3 years. As the programme expanded to 158 cities, counties and districts and 280 sites, it aimed to deliver supplies needed in the field more quickly.
About 50 group employees who joined the activity produced 1,000 sharing kits made up of food items and daily necessities, including multigrain rice, ramen, jangjorim and kimchi. They also supported loading work for supplies to be delivered to sites in Gwangjin-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Songpa-gu and the Gwangmyeong area.
A Shinhan Financial official said, "We will lend our support so that the Just Dream programme can establish itself as a reliable welfare safety net for our society, and we will continue a range of social contribution activities to help address welfare blind spots."
