[Digital Today reporter Jin-ho Lee (이진호)] Motorola is launching a 5G smartphone in South Korea featuring a large-capacity battery and durability.

Motorola said on June 9 it will launch the 'moto g86 power 5G' in South Korea through SK Telecom.

The moto g86 power 5G includes a 6,720 mAh battery, the largest ever in a Motorola product. It can be used for up to 53 hours and supports 30W TurboPower fast charging. It uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. It offers 8GB of memory and up to 256GB of storage, and also supports a microSD card slot.

The display uses a 6.7-inch Super HD pOLED panel, supporting a 28 percent higher resolution than the previous generation and brightness of up to 4,500 nits. It supports HDR10+ for richer color expression. It also includes stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos-based spatial sound to enhance audio.

For the first time in the moto g series, it applies a moto AI-based Photo Enhancement Engine to improve image quality. The Photo Enhancement Engine combines camera hardware and artificial intelligence-based image processing technology to deliver fine detail and a natural background blur effect. The main camera has 50 megapixels and a Sony LYTIA 600 sensor. It also supports an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 32-megapixel front camera.

Strong durability is also a feature. The moto g86 power 5G has obtained MIL-STD-810H, a U.S. Department of Defense military standard certification. With an IP68 and IP69 water- and dust-resistant design and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, it provides strong protection in drops, scratches and extreme temperature environments.

It also supports connections between various devices such as smartphones, tablets and PCs through the Smart Connect feature. Users can use file sharing, text and call linking, using the smartphone camera as a webcam and extending the mobile screen.

The moto g86 power 5G will go on sale from June 9 at SKT's official online T Direct Shop. It comes in 2 colors: Cosmic Sky and Spellbound. The official retail price is 429,000 won.
