OpenAI said on June 9 it has improved the ChatGPT user experience, including memory, file management and data visualisation.
The memory function has been improved so it automatically keeps up to date items such as preferences, working styles and ongoing projects that users have repeatedly entered. It is currently available first to Plus and Pro plan users in the United States, and will be expanded within weeks to Free and Go plans and additional countries.
The file library lets users manage and reuse files uploaded or created in ChatGPT in one place. Messages sent with attached files can also be edited afterward. Writing blocks and code blocks display long text and code separately from the chat window, making it easier to compare drafts and make edits.
Interactive charts, including bar, line and pie charts and scatter plots, can also be generated within a conversation based on tables or numerical data. Model selection has been improved so it can be switched directly from the input field.
An OpenAI official said, "Based on user feedback, we will continue making improvements so ChatGPT can become a faster and more useful AI tool."
