Banksalad on Monday released customer benefit data to mark the third anniversary of the launch of its loan refinancing service.

Customers who used Banksalad loan refinancing saved an annual average of 560,000 won in interest, it said. The average rate cut was 4.2 percentage points, and the average refinancing amount was 16.8 million won.

The company also cited cases where the interest-saving effect stood out. A man in his late 30s identified as A cut his annual interest to 5.45 million won from 11.01 million won through Banksalad. The annual savings was 5.56 million won.

A woman in her late 40s identified as B refinanced from a loan product with a 19.9 percent annual rate to a product with a 3 percent annual rate, lowering the rate by 16.9 percentage points.

The service also showed an effect of raising credit scores. Borrowers who moved from second-tier lenders to top-tier lenders through Banksalad loan refinancing saw their credit scores rise by an average of 50 points, it said. It explained that the data confirmed an effect of improving credit soundness while lowering the interest-rate burden.

A Banksalad official said the service analyses customer data to propose the lowest-rate products customers can actually get. The official said the company will continue to expand financial benefits based on data and technology to contribute to practicing inclusive finance, such as improving financial accessibility and reducing customers' interest burden.
