Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang will meet Deputy Prime Minister Baek Kyung-hoon (배경훈), who also serves as minister of science and ICT, during his visit to South Korea.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and industry sources said on Thursday that Huang will meet Baek during his itinerary in South Korea. The industry expects Huang and Baek to discuss supplies of graphics processing units (GPUs) to South Korean companies and cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI).
A ministry official said, "Only the meeting has been confirmed, but specific details such as the schedule or venue have not yet been verified."
Huang entered South Korea at 1 p.m. on Thursday through the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center. In the evening, he will hold a samgyeopsal meeting in Seoul’s Mapo district with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won (최태원), LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo (구광모) and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin (이해진).
