Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang, who is visiting South Korea this week, is making broad contact with the gaming industry, including back-to-back meetings with Krafton and NCSoft chiefs and pushing for a meeting with pro gamer Faker Lee Sang-hyeok (이상혁).
Industry officials said on June 4 that Huang will hold a one-on-one meeting in Seoul this week with Krafton Chairman Chang Byung-gyu (장병규), Chief AI Officer Lee Kang-wook (이강욱) and Jang Tae-seok (장태석), who oversees the "Battlegrounds" IP franchise. Agenda items being discussed include cooperation on humanoid robots based on physical AI and gaming collaboration based on "RTX Spark". A key link is Ludo Robotics, a physical AI-focused unit Krafton set up early this year. Ludo Robotics appointed Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han (김창한) as CEO of its U.S. headquarters and Lee as head of its South Korea unit, and is stepping up development of AI for humanoid robots. Observers say the local AI computing performance of the "N1X" chipset built into RTX Spark could also help expand on-device AI features in Krafton games such as "PUBG Ally" and "Smart Joy."
He will also hold a separate meeting with NCSoft CEO Kim Taek-jin (김택진) in Seoul on June 7. The specific agenda is not known, but cooperation in gaming, AI and physical AI is expected to be discussed. Attention is on points of contact with Nvidia because NC AI, NCSoft's AI unit, formed a consortium with Hyundai Rotem and was selected as the final project operator for a state project ordered by the Agency for Defense Development for a robot system based on physical AI.
He is also known to be pursuing a meeting with pro gamer Faker Lee during his trip. The specific schedule and location are still being coordinated. Huang drew attention during last year's visit when he chanted Faker's name on stage at the "Nvidia GeForce Gamer Festival" held in Seoul.
Huang will arrive via Gimpo Airport on the afternoon of June 5. On the day he arrives, he will meet LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo (구광모), SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won (최태원) and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin (이해진) in Seongsu-dong, and then is set to meet in succession with gaming industry figures, robotics and AI startups, and researchers.
