[San Francisco, United States = Digital Today reporter Hwang Chi-gyu] Snowflake and Anthropic are strengthening cooperation with the aim of lowering barriers as companies adopt AI.

The companies agreed in December to directly integrate Anthropic’s Claude models into the Snowflake Cortex AI platform. They decided to work more closely to target the enterprise AI market on that basis.

The expansion of the alliance was announced at Snowflake Summit 2026, Snowflake’s annual conference held in San Francisco.

According to Snowflake, the partnership focuses on 6 main areas.

First, Snowflake brought Claude into Cortex AI so customers can use AI without sending enterprise data outside. Companies can apply Claude inference to all data types, including text and images, while maintaining Snowflake governance and security policies.

Snowflake is also embedding Claude into Snowflake Intelligence (Cork). It supports querying enterprise data in natural language and generating insights. The goal is to combine business context, governance and frontier AI models to go beyond static dashboards, identify why results occurred and enable follow-on action.

Snowflake will also boost developer productivity through the partnership. Claude Code users can connect Snowflake data directly into developer workflows through the Cortex Code plugin.

Snowflake is also providing Cortex Agent, a development tool that allows companies to build their own AI agents. Customers can build Claude-based agents to handle automated customer support, data analysis and operational work. Built agents can be deployed immediately within Snowflake’s security and governance environment.

Snowflake is also participating as 1 of 6 initial partners in the Claude Marketplace. It will support simpler procurement by allowing spending with Anthropic to be applied directly to purchases of Snowflake AI functions. Block, Carvana, Indeed, Deloitte, Notion and eSentire were named as customers that have adopted AI solutions based on the companies’ collaboration.

The companies are also cooperating on Claude Code Security, a security function developed by Anthropic. Claude Code Security supports users in automatically detecting, assessing and resolving security vulnerabilities.

Christian Kleinerman (크리스티안 클레이너만), Snowflake’s senior vice president for product, said Cortex Code, a coding agent equipped with Claude Code, has become the fastest-growing product in Snowflake’s history. He said more than 7,100 people are using it. Steve Cofield (스티브 코필드), head of global business development at Anthropic, said Snowflake customers are using Claude for cybersecurity investigations, financial analysis and building data apps.
