[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Global open-source solutions company Red Hat said on June 1 it updated Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to help support operationalising AI agents in enterprise environments.

Red Hat is building a trusted execution layer for IT operations in the agentic era, connecting AI intelligence and real-world IT operations to an industrial-grade level.

Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.7 and a new automation orchestrator (technical preview) have evolved with this update to orchestrate complex AI workflows by combining human oversight and intelligent insights, the company said.

Through a bring-your-own-knowledge feature, it supports generating more context-appropriate AI responses by injecting organisation-specific tailored information into the automation intelligent assistant.

Through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Ansible Automation Platform, it can simplify AI-based automation by connecting AI tools and automation without separate custom integration work.

Red Hat emphasised the update as "an important turning point for Ansible Automation Platform to establish itself as a core automation platform for companies seeking to actually run AI in IT operations" and said, "Companies do not need to rebuild existing environments from scratch to adopt AI. They can use their existing, proven playbook libraries as a governed foundation and shift to executing actions recommended after AI agents investigate situations through deterministic workflows approved by humans."

Satish Balakrishnan (사티시 발라크리슈난), vice president and general manager of Red Hat's Ansible business, said, "At a time when AI is rapidly changing the speed and scale of IT ops, Red Hat provides a governance-based automation foundation that turns intelligence into trusted action."
