[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ho-jung] The Netmarble Cultural Foundation’s para rowing team competed in a national para rowing event and won 21 medals, including 12 golds, posting strong results.

The Netmarble Cultural Foundation said on Sunday that its Netmarble Rowing Team collected 12 golds, 7 silvers and 2 bronzes at the 2026 Seoul Mayor’s Cup National Para Rowing Competition.

Launched in 2019 as the first such team in the gaming industry, the Netmarble Rowing Team is run with the aim of promoting disabled sports, supporting long-term self-reliance and expanding social participation. After winning 12 medals at the 45th National Sports Games for the Disabled held in November last year, the team again finished in the medals in large numbers at this competition, demonstrating steady ability.

The competition was hosted by the Seoul Sports Association for the Disabled and organised by the Seoul Para Rowing Federation and the Korea Para Rowing Federation. It was held over two days on May 29 and 30 at the rowing course at Misa Rowing Park. A total of 17 events were contested, divided into on-water and indoor disciplines as well as by gender (men, women and mixed) and disability type (physical, visual and intellectual).

All athletes who competed delivered balanced performances. In particular, Han Eun-ji (한은지) won 1 gold and 1 silver and was named the indoor MVP. Kang I-seong (강이성), who won 2 golds and 1 bronze, and Kang Hyun-ju (강현주), who took 3 golds, received outstanding athlete awards.

Bae Ji-in, Lee Bong-hee, Lee Seung-ju, Jeon Seung-bo, Chu Yeon-hee and cox Seo Ha-kyung also added medals across their events, completing a total haul of 21.

Kang I-seong, who received an outstanding athlete award, said, "I had an injury last year, but thanks to stable support I was able to focus on rehabilitation, and I am happy that I was able to achieve good results this year."
