NH NongHyup Financial is shifting the focus of its retirement pension business from securing subscribers to managing returns. It aims to strengthen an integrated pension finance framework.

NH NongHyup Financial said on Saturday it is pursuing a transition into a "returns-focused retirement pension financial group" responsible for customers' actual returns and post-retirement asset management.

Within the group, NH NongHyup Bank and NH Investment & Securities are boosting market competitiveness by highlighting retirement pension returns performance. NH NongHyup Bank is strengthening its retirement pension management capabilities based on a stable asset allocation strategy and customer-tailored portfolio management, it said.

In particular, it ranked No. 1 in the comprehensive weighted average return among the five major commercial banks for four straight quarters in the non-principal-guaranteed retirement pension segment. It also offers the "NH All One Wonderful Happy Companion" savings and installment deposit products for pension recipients, responding to asset management demand among retirees.

NH NongHyup Bank plans to expand customer touchpoints for retirement pensions by using its nationwide branch network and digital platforms.

NH Investment & Securities is putting forward digital and AI-based pension asset management services. Its robo-adviser product, the "NH-DNA Retirement Pension Econex", posted a cumulative return of 106.5 percent as of end-March. It is also upgrading its mobile pension management service and tailored investment solutions to raise customer convenience and management expertise, it said.

NH NongHyup Financial plans to strengthen a group synergy system that links the bank's customer base, the securities unit's investment and management capabilities, and the insurer's protection functions. Its strategy is to enhance competitiveness in post-retirement asset management by expanding tailored products and services for pension customers.

An NH NongHyup Financial official said, "We need to strengthen the group's retirement pension competitiveness." The official added, "We will expand NongHyup Financial's own synergy based on the senior-focused brand 'NH All One Wonderful'."
