[DigitalToday AI Reporter] Acoustune has unveiled the ATX001, a USB-C dongle that enables LDAC and aptX Lossless on an iPhone. TechRadar reported on May 29 that the device adds Bluetooth audio codecs that Apple does not support by default, expanding the range of wireless audio options on the iPhone.

The ATX001 is a wireless dongle that plugs into a USB-C port. It supports LDAC as well as AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD and aptX Lossless. To benefit from these codecs, users need headphones or earbuds that support the relevant standards.

The main target is iPhone users who use a USB-C port. Unlike Android phones, iPhones do not natively support LDAC and multiple aptX-family codecs. The dongle fills that gap, making it easier to enjoy lossless-grade wireless audio.

It is priced at $75. At the time of its launch in Japan, it was expected to be close to $100, but the actual price was set lower.

The ATX001 operates mainly through a smartphone app. Initial setup must be done on a smartphone, but once configured it can be used on other devices, with control continuing through the smartphone. It can also connect to game consoles and PCs, and a USB-A adapter is included.

It also supports USB-C pass-through. Users can use Bluetooth audio at the same time while a charger, Mac connection or game controller is plugged into the same port.
