Samsung SDS held its "Samsung SDS Industry Day" on May 28 at the Lotte City Hotel Daejeon for manufacturing companies in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions and shared strategies and cases for AI transformation (AX) in manufacturing.

Samsung SDS has been running seminars this year, starting with the public sector in March and holding seminars in April for manufacturing, distribution, services and the financial industry.

Park Chang-hong (박창홍), head of Samsung SDS' Manufacturing AM Team and a managing director, said in welcoming remarks at the event that companies are now focusing on what results they can create by applying AI to actual work, beyond simply introducing AI. He said Samsung SDS is actively supporting customers' successful AX transformation based on its AI full-stack strategy.

Samsung SDS is strengthening efforts to target the corporate AX market based on its AI full-stack strategy, which includes AI infrastructure, platforms and solutions and spans the full range from consulting to deployment and operations. It plans to support not only the introduction of technology but also actual work innovation and the creation of results.

In the presentation session that followed, participants shared a data platform for manufacturing AX, a Harim Group One ERP deployment case, a strategy for innovating PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) using AI, an OT (Operating Technology) security strategy for responding to ransomware, an application case of a 5G private network for implementing physical AI and ways to use the generative AI-based collaboration solution Brity Works.

Samsung SDS said OT security strategies reflecting the manufacturing floor's characteristics, where damage is large when production stops, and cases of applying 5G private networks needed to spread physical AI inside factories drew strong interest from attendees.

Lee Jung-heon (이정헌), head of Samsung SDS' Strategic Marketing Office and a vice president, said the seminar was meaningful in that it shared AX directions and actual innovation cases for manufacturing companies in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions. He said Samsung SDS will continue to provide insights to customers across various industries based on its AI full-stack capabilities and industry-specific know-how.
